I enjoyed reading this update, Diana. I've been a vegetarian since 1993 but added seafood (mostly salmon and rarely) 2-3 years ago. I also try as much as possible to eat fruits and vegetables grown within 100 miles and in-season. Like you I've found the benefits to be immeasurable. Yay!

Diana,

Great, great post. Very inspiring.

I have tackled a 100-mile diet for a month at a time (in the fall, during high produce season). Like you, I felt great. I don't know what aspect of processed foods I "missed" the most, but it doesn't really matter.

I don't stay on the wagon year-round, but each year I keep another new habit or two.

Hey Diana -

Thanks for this great post. As someone who is trying the big drugs as well as the diet changes, I can really sympathize and celebrate your success with this diet. I go back and forth with the autoimmune diet - some months I do well, and some months I don't. You're inspiring me to get back in the saddle.

This is fantastic Diana, congrats. I'm really into finding natural remedies to things; my mum is a qualified aromatherapist/masseuse and she's cured a ton of small things for us that way! (Colds last 3 days at most)

I can't wait for your recipes etc; I know my diet needs an overhaul, but I have no idea what's for the best.

Glad you're feeling much better!

Good for you! I found you via a "google alert" for seborrheic dermatitis. And while your story wasn't so much about SD, it is definitely inspiring! We should all strive to eat better to live healthier.
Great story and I look forward to hearing more about those recipes ;)

It's so true that when the consequences of our actions become unacceptable, formerly unacceptable solutions become acceptable.

I relate to a lot of this. I don't have autoimmune issues, but I've made major dietary and lifestyle changes that I never thought I'd do.

You go!
